iPhone motherboard is a compact device which is made by sandwiching two PCBs (Printed circuit board) together. During the process of manufacture of iPhone, this board passes through a hot oven which links together all the board connections. When something goes wrong to your iPhone board, it can be send for repair to Apple customer care or many other companies which can repair the board for you. However, many people prefer to repair the board all by themselves. So if you are planning to repair your iPhone board, you need to be very sure of the process because otherwise you can end up with destroying your iPhone. You can also replace a damaged iPhone board by a new one which would be an easier option.
For instructions to open your iPhone and remove the board follow as below:
1. Open screws on the iPhone both from the right and left side of the dock connector.
2. Use a screw driver to carefully create a gap between the chrome frame and the glass covering.
3. Pull the iPhone front panel outwards.
4. Then lift the iPhone screen
5. You will find the orange numbers; from around there lose the ribbon cable connectors.
6. Do not pull out the screen until you disconnect the “3” ribbon cable connector
7. When you have successfully taken off the screen, you should remove all the screws holding the motherboard.
8. Remove the motherboard carefully (now you can put in a new motherboard and follow these steps inversely to secure the iPhone)
If you are willing to repair the iPhone board yourself, you will have to heat it in the oven. Follow the 
steps below for that:
1. Preheat oven to 385 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Place PCB onto the cooking sheet and heat for 7 minutes
3. Then let it cool for around 1 hour
4. Fix it into your iPhone
Word of caution: Do not try this at home if you are not sure of the exact process as heating up can ruin your iPhone completely.
It is preferable to get it repaired from an expert rather than trying it yourself at home. If you want to just replace the motherboard with a new one that is not big task and can be performed at home by watching YouTube video instructing you how to get it done.
